Who We Are

Kevin McKinley | Principal/Owner

Kevin began working for an investment firm when he was 17 years old. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 1988 with a degree in Economics and History, he returned to the same firm to become a financial advisor. He earned the title of Vice President with that firm at the age of 25.

In 2008 he formed his firm McKinley Money LLC to provide investment management and financial planning for individuals and families, while serving them in a fiduciary manner.

In 2002 Simon & Schuster published Kevin's book Make Your Kid a Millionaire — 11 Easy Ways Anyone Can Secure a Child's Financial Future.

For many years his show On Your Money aired each week statewide on Wisconsin Public Radio, and his monthly column on family financial planning was published by Wealth Management, a leading publication for financial advisors. Kevin also wrote a weekly column for the Eau Claire Leader Telegram.

His advice has been featured prominent media outlets such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Money magazine. In 2005 he was named to the Wisconsin Governor's Council on Financial Literacy*, and in 2018 he received a “Legacy” award from the Governor of Wisconsin for his efforts to promote financial literacy.

Kevin currently serves as the primary advisor for clients of McKinley Money LLC.

Rachel McKinley | Office Manager

Rachel McKinley has been married to Kevin McKinley since 1997. She was born and raised in New Berlin, Wisconsin, the youngest of eight children. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, playing volleyball for the Blugolds and graduating in 1993 with a degree in Kinesiology. She then opened her own massage therapy practice.

In 1999 she founded My Receptionist, a nationwide answering and appointment service designed specifically for alternative healthcare providers. She sold the company in 2002 and began working for the Mayo Clinic as a massage therapist. In 2008 Rachel became the Office Manager of McKinley Money LLC.

Rachel helps clients in many ways, including opening accounts, processing transfers, and oversees their incoming deposits and outgoing payments.

Duncan McKinley | Associate Financial Advisor

Duncan McKinley is the son of Kevin and Rachel McKinley. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 2024, majoring in Personal Finance with a certificate in Entrepreneurship.

During his time at UW-Madison, Duncan played for the Wisconsin Badgers football team, while maintaining a 3.70 GPA. He was a four-time Dean's List honoree, a four-time Academic All-Big Ten recipient, and a three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. While still in college he studied for and passed the Series 65 Uniform Investment Adviser Law Exam, and in 2023 he completed the Amplified Planning Financial Planning Externship.

Duncan worked part-time for McKinley Money during his college years, and after graduation he joined the firm on a full-time basis.

Duncan provides background investment and financial planning support services, so that Kevin can maximize the time he spends talking with clients.
