Kevin began working for an investment firm when he was 17 years old. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in economics and history in 1988, he returned to the same firm to become a financial advisor. He earned the title of Vice President at the age of 25. In 2008 he formed his firm McKinley Money LLC to provide investment management and financial planning for individuals and families, while serving them in a fiduciary manner.
In 2002 Simon & Schuster published Kevin's book Make Your Kid a Millionaire — 11 Easy Ways Anyone Can Secure a Child's Financial Future.
In 2003 his show On Your Money began airing each week on Wisconsin Public Radio, and he started writing a monthly column on family financial planning for Wealth Management, the leading publication for financial advisors.
His advice has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Money magazine. In 2005 he was named to the Wisconsin Governor's Council on Financial Literacy.
He lives in Eau Claire, Wisconsin with his wife and three children.
